This 70th week of Daniel Bible study post reviews a video by Prophecy Watchers at the Pretrib Conference called Nathan Jones: Will Atheists Be in the Tribulation?
Video description: Join Mondo from the Pretrib Conference in Dallas. He will be interviewing a variety of guests from the conference.
The video is only ten minutes long, but they give a list of false prophecy fulfillment explanations. And this is at a conference of supposed Bible prophecy experts. Prophecy Watchers has 155K YouTube subscribers, so they’re misleading a lot of people.
Here’s a list of the speakers. Notice how many have been to Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) which is the primary place where the false, futuristic explanations are taught, which have caused graduates to spread these false teachings around the world.

Prophecy Watchers points to a pre-trib rapture at the beginning of the supposed seven-year tribulation period.
The concept of a pre-trib rapture is based on a futuristic 70th week of Daniel, but that is a deception to fool the end times saints. The 70th week of Daniel 9 prophecy foretold when Messiah would appear to carry out His ministry, and when (in the middle of the 70th week) He would confirm the everlasting covenant (that was mentioned in Daniel 9:4) with His blood as the Passover Lamb, to atone for our sins. It’s not about the end times or the antichrist.

Prophecy Watchers points to the seals, trumpets and bowls of Revelation being fulfilled during a seven-year tribulation period.
Most of the prophecies in Revelation have already been fulfilled during the last 1,900 years, as the Satan-empowered leaders of the Roman beast kingdom have fought against Messiah and His saints. The pagan Roman Emperors tried to wipe out the early church, killing millions. The Roman Popes banned and burned the Scriptures and caused tens of millions of saints to be killed during the Dark Ages and the Inquisition. These are the things that Messiah is pointing to in His apocalyptic vision.

Prophecy Watchers says that the two witnesses are two men who will prophecy for 3 1/2 years.
The Two Witnesses are the Scriptures (the two olive trees) that provide oil for the Saints (the two lampstands). The Popes banned and burned the Scriptures, and caused tens of millions of saints to be killed during the Dark Ages.
The Popes were so relentless that in May 1514 they proclaimed that there were no witnesses left against them. Then 3 1/2 years later, Martin Luther posted his 95 Thesis which sparked the Protestant Reformation and brought the saints back to life, so that they witnesses against the antichrist Popes again.
This matches Messiah’s declaration to the church era of Sardis, that they are dead, but then He gives them commands to carry out their work against the enemy.
The Scriptures were translated from Latin into English and with the advent of the printing press, the ‘little book’ of Revelation 10, the printed Bible, was spread around the world.
This statue shows who the two witnesses are, as the Catholic General is stepping on a saint who is holding the Scriptures.

Prophecy Watchers says the fifth trumpet will feature demons torturing people for five months.
The fifth trumpet represents Elohim using the Arabian (Mohammedan) army against the Roman Empire from 612-762 AD, which is 150 years (5 months x 30 days = 150 days). They wore turbans (crowns of gold); they had beards (faces of men, as the Roman shaved); they had long hair like women; they wore chain-mail (breast-plates of iron); and they were fierce (teeth of lions). The ‘falling star’ was Mohammed, the ‘smoke’ out of Satan’s bottomless pit is the false religion of Islam, which hides the Gospel from Arabs eyes.

Prophecy Watchers points to Messiah’s Olivet Discourse being fulfilled in the end times, and an increase in signs that lead to Messiah’s return.
The context of Messiah’s Olivet Discourse is the desolation of the temple that He just came out of, in which He rebuked the Jewish leaders who were seeking to kill Him. He proclaimed that judgment would come upon them in that generation. We know that within a generation, the Jewish-Roman War of 66-70 AD caused Jerusalem, the temple and the Jewish nation to be desolated. 1.1 million Jews died in and around Jerusalem from famine, pestilence, infighting, suicide, evisceration, crucifixion and by the Roman sword.
All of the things that Messiah described from Matthew 23:36 to Matthew 24:33 were fulfilled by 70 AD. The enemy has deceived people about the symbolism of the sun, moon, and stars being darkened; Messiah coming in power and glory; and the elect being gathered. But the Bible gives the proper definitions for the symbols.
The term ‘this generation’ was used ten times in Matthew, the last time in Matthew 24:34. The previous nine times it points to the Jews who lived during Messiah’s first advent. When you take Messiah at His Word you see the fulfillment of His Olivet Discourse and how the things that He described took place in that generation of Jews, for their punishment of continuing their rebellion against the Father, for delivering Messiah up to be killed, and for persecuting His disciples. They proclaimed ‘let His blood be on us,’ and that prophetic statement was fulfilled in that generation.

Prophecy Watchers discussion is based on the premise of a futuristic 70th week of Daniel 9, the supposed 7-year tribulation period.
They’re proclaiming the Messiah will rapture His saints out at the time of the 7-year antichrist peace agreement, so that the saints won’t have to face the time of great tribulation and the wrath of God that’s outlined in the seals, trumpets and bowls of Revelation.
But 70th week of Daniel 9 is not about the end-times or the antichrist, it is about Messiah’s first advent. The concept of a futuristic 70th week of Daniel is a deception from the enemy, to deceive the end-times saints.
“And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments.” Daniel 9:4
I wrote The 70th Week Of Daniel 9 Decoded book to prove out the glorious fulfillment by Messiah, and expose the deception of the enemy. It’s the one Bible prophecy that pointed to the exact time when Messiah would carry out His ministry and die for our sins, which is why the enemy seeks to hide the truth.
There are two key reasons to read this book. First, the 70th week of Daniel is the only prophecy in the Bible that foretold exactly when Messiah would start His ministry and when He would die for our sins.
When you understand the fulfillment, you have tangible proof to give to the world, that the Bible is true and that Messiah is deity.
The second reason is that the popular explanations for the fulfillment of Revelation are based on the concept of a futuristic 70th week of Daniel, an end-times seven-year tribulation period.
When you understand that the 70th week of Daniel 9 foretold the exact time that Messiah would carry out His ministry and die for our sins; then you know that it’s not about the antichrist.
Regarding the ‘covenant’ of Daniel 9:27, it’s the same covenant that Daniel just mentioned in Daniel 9:4, which already existed. It is the everlasting covenant that was made to Abraham, which Messiah came to ‘confirm’ with His blood as the Passover Lamb, which paid the price for our sins and ended the need for temple animal sacrifices.
We’ll all stand before our Righteous Judge to account for what we believe and teach about the most important prophecy in the Bible. I pray that you will read the explanations in this book about the 70th week of Daniel, compare it to Scripture, and discern it for yourself.
