This 70th week of Daniel Bible study post reviews a video by Prophecy Watchers at the Pretrib Conference called Don Perkins: The Balance of Prophecy
Don Perkins and Prophecy Watchers have a heart for sharing the Gospel.
That is wonderful, but how much more effective could they be if they understood Bible prophecy?
The historical fulfillment of the 70th week of Daniel 9, Messiah’s Olivet Discourse and most of Revelation during the last 1,900 years, proves the validity of the Bible and the deity of Messiah. All of these pastors at the Pretrib Conference could be proclaiming the historicist narrative as a bold witness to the world.
If they understood that the office of the papacy, the Popes of Rome, fulfill Bible prophecy as the ‘little horn’ of Daniel 7, the ‘son of perdition’ of 2 Thessalonians 2, and the ‘antichrist beast’ of Revelation 13, who leads the ‘harlot’ church of Rome; then they would be striving to help Catholics come out of a false religion and into a covenant relationship with the Heavenly Father through Messiah alone.

Prophecy Watchers points to Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21, point to Messiah’s return.
The context of Messiah’s Olivet Discourse is the desolation of the temple that He just came out of, in which He rebuked the Jewish leaders who were seeking to kill Him. He proclaimed that judgment would come upon them in that generation. We know that within a generation, the Jewish-Roman War of 66-70 AD caused Jerusalem, the temple and the Jewish nation to be desolated. 1.1 million Jews died in and around Jerusalem from famine, pestilence, infighting, suicide, evisceration, crucifixion and by the Roman sword.
All of the things that Messiah described from Matthew 23:36 to Matthew 24:33 were fulfilled by 70 AD. The enemy has deceived people about the symbolism of the sun, moon, and stars being darkened; Messiah coming in power and glory; and the elect being gathered. But the Bible gives the proper definitions for the symbols.
The term ‘this generation’ was used ten times in Matthew, the last time in Matthew 24:34. The previous nine times it points to the Jews who lived during Messiah’s first advent. When you take Messiah at His Word you see the fulfillment of His Olivet Discourse and how the things that He described took place in that generation of Jews, for their punishment of continuing their rebellion against the Father, for delivering Messiah up to be killed, and for persecuting His disciples. They proclaimed ‘let His blood be on us,’ and that prophetic statement was fulfilled in that generation.

Prophecy Watchers says that Messiah is coming like a thief.
Sadly, Don Perkins and Prophecy Watches have been misled by the false, futuristic explanations which were created by the Jesuits to deflect blame away from the Popes of Rome. This means that they are following a false script of how the end-times will play out and are not prepared for Messiah’s return.
Here’s a list of the speakers. Notice how many have been to Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) which is the primary place where the false, futuristic explanations are taught, which have caused graduates to spread these false teachings around the world.

Read How The Deceptions Spread
The Prophecy Watchers discussion is based on the premise of a futuristic 70th week of Daniel 9, the supposed 7-year tribulation period.
They’re proclaiming the Messiah will rapture His saints out at the time of the 7-year antichrist peace agreement, so that the saints won’t have to face the time of great tribulation and the wrath of God that’s outlined in the seals, trumpets and bowls of Revelation.
But 70th week of Daniel 9 is not about the end-times or the antichrist, it is about Messiah’s first advent. The concept of a futuristic 70th week of Daniel is a deception from the enemy, to deceive the end-times saints.
The 70th week of Daniel 9 prophecy foretold when Messiah would appear to carry out His ministry, and when (in the middle of the 70th week) He would confirm the everlasting covenant (that was mentioned in Daniel 9:4) with His blood as the Passover Lamb, to atone for our sins.
“And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments.” Daniel 9:4
I wrote The 70th Week Of Daniel 9 Decoded book to prove out the glorious fulfillment by Messiah, and expose the deception of the enemy. It’s the one Bible prophecy that pointed to the exact time when Messiah would carry out His ministry and die for our sins, which is why the enemy seeks to hide the truth.
There are two key reasons to read this book. First, the 70th week of Daniel is the only prophecy in the Bible that foretold exactly when Messiah would start His ministry and when He would die for our sins.
When you understand the fulfillment, you have tangible proof to give to the world, that the Bible is true and that Messiah is deity.
The second reason is that the popular explanations for the fulfillment of Revelation are based on the concept of a futuristic 70th week of Daniel, an end-times seven-year tribulation period.
When you understand that the 70th week of Daniel 9 foretold the exact time that Messiah would carry out His ministry and die for our sins; then you know that it’s not about the antichrist.
Regarding the ‘covenant’ of Daniel 9:27, it’s the same covenant that Daniel just mentioned in Daniel 9:4, which already existed. It is the everlasting covenant that was made to Abraham, which Messiah came to ‘confirm’ with His blood as the Passover Lamb, which paid the price for our sins and ended the need for temple animal sacrifices.
We’ll all stand before our Righteous Judge to account for what we believe and teach about the most important prophecy in the Bible. I pray that you will read the explanations in this book about the 70th week of Daniel, compare it to Scripture, and discern it for yourself.
