Prophecy Watchers Gary Stearman And Ken Johnson On The Rapture

This 70th week of Daniel Bible study post reviews a video by Gary Stearman of Prophecy Watchers called Ken Johnson: The Rapture of the Church?

Video description: It may be the most controversial subject in Christendom today—the rapture of the Church. It’s a critical Bible doctrine that has its share of skeptics and bashers. Will we be whisked up to heaven by Jesus “in the twinkling of an eye,” or will we be left behind to face the Antichrist, endure a 7-year Tribulation, and face certain death? Gary Stearman and Ken Johnson address the issues with logic and Scripture to defend the Blessed Hope!

The whole discussion between Gary Stearman and Ken Johnson is based on the premise of a futuristic 70th week of Daniel 9, the supposed 7-year tribulation period. They’re proclaiming the Messiah will rapture His saints out at the time of the 7-year antichrist peace agreement, so that the saints won’t have to face the time of great tribulation and the wrath of God that’s outlined in the seals, trumpets and bowls of Revelation.

But 70th week of Daniel 9 is not about the end-times or the antichrist, it is about Messiah’s first advent. The concept of a futuristic 70th week of Daniel is a deception from the enemy, to deceive the end-times saints.

The 70th week of Daniel 9 prophecy foretold when Messiah would appear to carry out His ministry, and when (in the middle of the 70th week) He would confirm the everlasting covenant (that was mentioned in Daniel 9:4) with His blood as the Passover Lamb, to atone for our sins.

“And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments.” Daniel 9:4

I wrote The 70th Week Of Daniel 9 Decoded book to prove out the glorious fulfillment by Messiah, and expose the deception of the enemy. It’s the one Bible prophecy that pointed to the exact time when Messiah would carry out His ministry and die for our sins, which is why the enemy seeks to hide the truth.

Whether on purpose or from ignorance, Gary Stearman and Ken Johnson are misleading people by pointing to a futuristic fulfillment of Revelation. The truth is that most of the prophecies in Revelation have already been fulfilled during the last 1,900 years, as Satan has used the leaders of the Roman beast kingdom to fight against Messiah and His saints.

Revelation Timeline Decoded by David Nikao Wilcoxson - end times prophecy

Messiah’s apocalyptic vision is a war manual, designed to hide the explanation from those who should not understand it. It uses symbolic words that are defined in the Old Testament to point to a literal fulfillment. If you read Revelation only from a literal perspective, the interpretation is hidden.

Understanding the vision is like taking a Biblical final exam. If you’ve read the whole Word, you will have seen the symbolism that Messiah uses and can apply it to the fulfillment.

If you read Revelation as one chronological narrative, the prophecies seem out of sequence. That’s because it has four chronological layers, each of which spans from when it was written until Messiah returns.

This book explains the prophecies of Revelation on a timeline to help you see how the four chronological layers interact with each other, so that you can comprehend the whole vision.

You will learn how to identify who fulfills the role of the son of perdition, the antichrist beast, the false prophet, and the harlot called ‘Mystery, Babylon the Great.’ You will understand the proper context of the seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments; the little book of Revelation 10, and the two witnesses of Revelation 11.

Whether you’re a novice at Bible prophecy or someone who has studied it extensively, I provide an explanation that is easy to understand yet has the depth of verse by verse explanations to provide you the evidence you need to prove it out.

  1. I have attached a file (can’t do that here!) of chapter 6 from The Journey Through Tribulation. This is the correct and God-breathed interpretation of the 70 week prophecy. Pasted here are several other excerpts:

We go through great tribulation during the sanctification process.
2 Thessalonians 1:4-5 We ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure, 5 which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God…

Acts 14:22 …confirming the souls of the disciples and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Revelation 1:9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Daniel 9:27 And He shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (7000 years): and in the midst of the week (year 3787) He shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease…

The 7000 years is our 6000 year Earth age + the 1000 year Millennial Reign. We are in the year 5781.

The antiChrists, Leviathan and his army, have been here from the beginning, working through many people, maybe even you. Any religion that rejects the Messiah or the Eternal Law or teaches other false doctrines is antiChrist.

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist that denieth the Father and the Son.

1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that the Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: And this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

The number 666 represents the sin nature of man, 3 represents divine completeness and perfection. Three sixes mean completely sinful, the antiChrist spirits working through hosts that rebel against Father, Son, and the Eternal Law.

    • Wow, that’s a lot of information Mikah. I’ll just address this part, ‘Daniel 9:27 And He shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (7000 years): and in the midst of the week (year 3787) He shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.’

Daniel 9:27 is not about 7,000 years of history, it’s about the 70 week timeline that Daniel was given that foretold when Messiah would appear, in the 70th week. Messiah confirmed the everlasting covenant with His blood as the Spotless Lamb, which ended the need for temple sacrifices.

The Jewish nation was desolated because they rejected their promised Messiah and delivered Him up to be killed.

My The 70th Week Of Daniel 9 Decoded book explains it in detail.
